Minutes for January 26, 2019

President, Keith
Baggus opened the planning meeting for this year by introducing two
new members, John and Marjie Stark.
Proposed 2019-2020 Calendar
February 16,
2019…Saturday A Meeting
starting at 1:00 will be held at Saint Matthias Lutheran Church, 100
Chapel View Drive, Greensburg, Pa. 15601. The meeting will be to
merge the three existing Facebook PGRS sites and reconstruct a more
user friendly tool to expose our club to the Web. Jan Vogt and Bert
Mangold have agreed to head up the project. Your input will be most
helpful in determining the direction we should go to promote our
Club. All ideas from members will be appreciated. Your pictures,
videos and stories will be needed in the near future to expose the
PGRS to internet Web Browsers. Coffee and tea will be provided.
March 16, 2019…Saturday A
Work Session
at 10:00 will be at the Monongahela
River, Rail & Transportation Museum, 412 Church Street, Brownsville,
Pa. 15417 to rebuild and freshen up the existing layout for the
upcoming events. Dan Cinowalt will head up the mountain
construction.

27, 2019…Saturday A Meeting
at 1:00 will be at Bruce & Reggie Watkins home @ 1522 Buena Vista
St., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15212. They have an
inside and outside layout at their home in the Mexican War District

during the Fayette Co. Train Days at the Monongahela River, Rail &
Transportation Museum, Brownsville, Pa. will need manning. Call John

4:00 during the National Pike Gas & Steam event in Brownsville, Pa.
will need manning. Times may change on the museum hours and dates of

A Car Trip will meet at Laurel Highlands
Model R.R. Club, 216 W. Main Street, Somerset, Pa. @ 2:00 You will
see 4,000 sq. foot area of train layouts including 4 G-gauge. A $40
cost for the Club’s tour will be divided by the attendees. Call

to Sugarcreek, Ohio that will include…Dennison Depot, Age Of Steam
Roundhouse, Warther‘s Museum with wood carvings of steam engines
carver from ivory, ebony and walnut and dinner, lodging, Amish Flea
Market, Amish Country Theater presentation… and so much more.

Vogt will be getting back to us with her findings.
Keith Baggus mentioned that on our July 20th
trip to Laurel Highlands Model R.R. Club we might be interested in
seeing the “Q” Creek Mine and The Flight 93 Memorial, both are in
the area. Keith said, we have not hear back from Wilkinsburg about
returning to their Fair.
***Keith also
updated us on the Carnegie Science Center planned for next January…A
“YES” vote by members that we should do it on Jan. 12 &13 of 2020.
Keith will keep in contact with Patty at the Center. We should start
putting together plans in the fall. Will need help in planning this
important event !!!
Dave Bodnar showed sound devices with memory
cards that can be made from inexpensive items, how to make his smoke
machine, some interesting new tools…digital soldering iron, solder
flux in a pen like a magic marker, a Dremel ( cord free) from Amazon
and some of the things a Laser cutter can make in G-gauge scale.
John Weimer explained the different rugs the
club owns and the configurations they can make depending on the
layout and size of an area.
