Road Deluxe Muffins
you’ll need 12
cup muffin pan, large mixing bowl preheat oven to 425
1 cup sifted enriched flour
1 cup “Mother’s 100% Natural Whole Wheat hot rolled
Wheat Cereal” uncooked
½ tsp. salt 1 egg, beaten
¼ cup brown sugar 1 cup milk
¼ cup shortening
Grease muffin tin cups and set aside. Sift together
flour, salt and baking powder. Stir in
brown sugar. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles
cornmeal. Add the Mother’s Whole Wheat cereal
and blend thoroughly.
Add beaten egg and milk, stirring only until
moistened. Fill greased muffin Cups
2/3 full. Bake in a 425F oven until done, about 20
Variations: add ½ cup chopped nuts or add ½
cup raisins or both.
