New Year find you happy and surrounded
by the love of family and friends. Happy
again to everyone who sent notes and
e-mails about enjoying the Christmas
party. Iím very appreciative of
the notes. A truly big thank you to all
who helped make it a big success. I
had a lot of help, thank you all again.
always we start the new year with our
planning meeting. This is one of the
most important meetings of the year
because it sets the tone for the year.
We are looking for ideas and for members
to host meetings. If anyone would like
to host a meeting or have a special
month you would like to host, please let
me know and weíll lock that month in for
you on the calendar. As always we are
looking for ideas new or old to help
make this an extra special year for the
club, so please share your thoughts and
ideas. If we did something you really
enjoyed and would like to do again,
please let us know. If we did something
you didnít like we want to know that,
quick review of what we did last year.
We started the year off with the
planning meeting in January. We skipped
February and didnít have a meeting. In
March we went over to Childrenís
Hospital of Pittsburgh to work on the
train display, cleaning it top to
bottom. April's meeting was out at St.
Matthias Lutheran Church in Greensburg.
Tina and Alycefaye hosted the meeting
and members demonstrated how to do a
variety of things for our railroads. May
was a busy month as we did two shows.
The first was the Trains Days at the
Monongahela River, Rail &Transportation
Museum. For the second show we went out
to the ďWilkinsburg 2 Way Street
FestivalĒ. Bob and Carol hosted our
June meeting at their home in
Greensburg. The second activity was a
bus trip to Lancaster for a dinner
theater escape weekend. In July we
slowed down a little and went out to
Connellsville Canteen for lunch and to
see Harry Clarkís Indian Creek Railroad.
August we had a show at Monongahela
River, Rail &Transportation Museum, and
Ken Maglietta and Family hosted the PGRS
family picnic. September's meeting was
hosted by Clark Kemmerer and Alice
Angelo at the Kemmerer home. October we
did the Castle Shannon Fire Department
Train show. This was one of our best
displays. Thank you again to each one
who worked together and to add something
special to the lay out. Thanks Dave for
the great video of the lay out. We
skipped November and didnít have a
meeting. We finished off the year with
our Christmas party in December at the
Collier Township Community room. This is
a recap of 2018. I hope I didnít miss
anything for the year, and again we need
your help in planning the new year.
January meeting is scheduled for January
26, 2019, from 1:00 PM to? at the
Carnegie United Methodist Church ,415
Washington Avenue, Carnegie, Pa 15106.
Please bring your ideas and a snack.
Iíll have pop and coffee.
closing I would like to remember the
members the club lost in 2018: Edward
Celento, February 19; Frank Magri, April
28; Lee Brades, July, and Claudette
Malick, August 24. Our sympathy goes out
their family and friends. When the Lord
calls our loved ones home, he leaves a
gift of memories in exchange.
