November, and time to change our clocks. Remember the old saying
spring a head, fall back. I know a lot of our members are
starting to put their trains away for another season. Winter is
the time of the year that I starting dreaming of the new things
I would like to make and use with my trains.
This October has been a very busy month for the PGRS.
First we had our regular meeting a Wine & Cheese tasting at the
Weimarís. Thank you John and Tina for hosting the meeting. We
had a great time, and their lay out is fantastic. Itís a great
example of what garden railroading is all about. (Please see the
Alycefaye gave a talk and demonstration on how she built the
Queen City Hotel and B&O R.R. Station for John & Tina's lay out.
As always, Alycefaye's work is over the top and very
informational. She uses her imagination in how to use
different kinds of material to get the look needed to make them
look just right. The hotel is a very large building and
Alycefaye is making it in three sections so that it can be
easily moved. She has only two of the sections done in the
photos, and the third section will be a winter project. I hope
John and Tina will invite the club back to see the hotel when
Alycefaye completes her masterpiece.
John and Tina have been working on the invitation for 20th
Anniversary celebration & Christmas dinner. They have
sent out 46 letters to regular members, and 95 letter to former
members. Thank you again John and Tina for all the hard work on
the invitations, and hosting the October meeting.
In attendance at the meeting were Dave & Lois Bodnar, Alice &
Clark Kemmerer, Ann & Ed Celento, Allen & Shirley Hartman, John
& Tina Weimer, Alycefaye Stewart, Jack Pyle, Sandy Hubert, Ed
Banks, and Keith Baggus. Congratulations to Ed Banks the lucky
winner of the 50/50 raffle, and a special thank you to Ed for
donating his winnings back to the club.
The second activity the club had taken part in was the Castle
Shannon Train Show at the Castle Shannon Volunteer Fire
Department Sunday October 26th . We met
on Saturday at 10AM for the set
up of our display, and the show was
on Sunday from 9AM to 3P.
The set up went smoothly, but the fire department had a garage
door malfunction and had it raining glass.
Sunday the show was well attended, and the club
did well with the raffle of the starter train set. We were
able to pay for the train set, paid Donald Goodwin for towing
the trailer, and made a little money for the club. Thank you
Donald for getting us the train set to raffle off. Thank you to
Alycefaye, she gave a demonstration on some of the building
techniques she uses in making her builds.
A big thank you to all our members who helped out with the set
up for show
on Saturday we had in attendance

Brandes, Ed Banks, John & Tina Weimer, Alycefaye Stewart, and
Keith Baggus. Thank you to Lee for bringing your track cleaning

The Banks home is not handicapped accessible. Ed has a special
lay out, it is built on his deck and overlooks a valley. If you
not seen it before it, is a must see.
The agenda for the meeting is talking about what needs to be
done for the Anniversary celebration, Christmas dinner, and door
prizes. The 20 year pins are in, and look great, and Iíll bring
one for show and tell. Weíll need to work on the election of
officers. Ann Celento has said that she will not be running for
treasurer this year. If anyone would like to run for this office
or any of the other offices, please let me know, and we can put
your name on the ballot.
